Building an Event Management company

Starting a role because of curiosity and wanting to explore. I joined an Event Management company which had a simple yet clear objective: give voice and platform to young talents by motivating them. I joined this Startup as I was impressed on how simple yet powerful their objective was.

This company was based in India and held events across various domains. As talent is diverse so were its events! We had technical workshops ranging from coding, data science to graphic design taken up by professionals, EDM workshops for music enthusiasts, live standup by leading artists to motivate students, free events for people to showcase their singing and much more.

In a very short time, I took the position of Technical Operations and Design Head. I was in charge of everything happening behind the scenes. I recruited a team of 30 working with me to budget, organise, plan, structure, design ads, publicise etc. for the events.

We pitched to key investors to sponsor and organise events for them. We had investors ranging from big firms like EY, Deloitte to small business owners who wanted to advertise and sponsor our events! We raised approx $50,000 in my tenure there from pitching our ideas across different cities.

Communicating with team, taking risks, leading with unorthodox ideas and finally collaborating made us succeed.
